The secret knowledge of Tao-chi

Taoism is based on the knowledge of Tao (literally "Way"), the origin of everything, the source of all existence.

Taoism, in his most secret aspect, gives a capital importance to the ternary principle: two opposed terms (wu-chi and tai-chi) and an intermediate term (Tao-chi).

Tao (Not To Be) is figured like a circle, the symbol of wu-chi (the Without limit). Il wu-chi - Tao - is the state of calm, the source of all forms of life.

Tao-chi (principal Point) is figured like the point in the centre of the circle, from Tao emerges that movement that originates the creation.

Tai-chi (to Be) is figured by the symbols of yin (shadow) and of yang (light), the duality formed by couples of complementary opposites, the disclosed creation.

Tao-chi history.

Tao-chi (literally "supreme Way") is the most ancient chinese discipline, idealized on 6th century b.C. by the taoist monk Chou Ling who passed on it secretly to his pupil Zhang Sanfeng.

Then, about the end of 2nd century A.D., the imperial doctor Hwa Do, became aware of Tao-chi, invented the "game of five animals", from which derives the actual Tai-chi-chuan.

Tao-chi - from 6th century to today - counts 50 grand masters and 1200 masters. The last grand chinese master, Tao Ling, decided to transmit the teaching of Tao-chi to a western, F.G.R., who became grand master.

What’s the Tao-chi.

Tao-chi - that proposes in his twelve movements the interaction of opposites (yin-yang and yang-yin) - grants to realize the unity body-mind (tai-chi), to obtain the power (chi). In this discipline body and mind are in action to practise a total and integrated activity, to achieve the supreme principle (chi) of the Way (Tao).

In Tao-chi there are totally twelve movements: six about the attack (yin-yang) and six about the defence (yang-yin). Everyone of six attack movements makes turn the body to left (yin) and makes advance the right leg (yang) and the right arm (yang). The six defence movements that make turn the body to right (yang) and make advance the left leg (yin) and the left arm (yin), they spring out from the six attack movements.

Tao-chi is a discipline that can be used to reach the wellbeing of body and mind or as self-defence against an hypothetical opponent. It's right to no age-limit people and it has no contraindication.
