The three levels of Tao-chi
Tao-chi (supreme Way) is based on the
learning of twelve movements that propose the interaction
of opposites (yin-yang and yang-yin) and grant to
realize the unity body-mind (tai-chi), to obtain the
supreme principle (chi) of the Way (Tao).
First Level (base).
The learning of twelve movements of
Tao-chi.
On six attack movements (yin-yang)
body turns to left (yin); the right leg (yang) and
the right arm (yang) advance. On six defence movements
(yang-yin) body turns to right (yang); the left leg
(yin) and the left arm (yin) advance.
See below the pictures of twelve movements:
six about the attack (on the right) and six about
the defence (on the left).

Second level (rigid).
Simulated combat between two people.
The two pupils place frontally. Which
one will execute the attack movements and which one
will execute the defence movements is decided. Numbering
the movements with a rigid way (from 1 to 6) they
will execute the six attack movements and the corresponding
six defence movements. Then pupils will exchange the
lists.
Third level (fluid).
Simulated combat between two people.
The two pupils place frontally. Which
one will execute the attack movements and which one
will execute the defence movements is decided. Numbering
the movements with a fluid way (ex: 2, 5, 3, 1, 4,
6) they will execute the six attack movements and
the corresponding six defence movement. Then pupils
will exchange the lists.
Which pupil who conquests the perfection
executing the third level will be a Tao-chi warrior.
The 49th grand master, Tao Ling, transmitted
the Tao-chi knowledge to a western, F.G.R., who became
grand master.
